button  What is the difference between Discount Dental Plan and Dental Insurance?

button (1)  Dental Insurance has an annual spending cap, deductibles, limitations and exclusions and may have waiting periods for certain procedures. Dental Insurance has no price transparency and does not provide procedure costs. Universal Dental Plan is a Discount Dental Savings Plan.

For the Members: Members are empowered with price transparency, cost control and simplicity of a plan where there are no enrollment restrictions, pre-existing conditions, waiting periods, deductibles or and annual benefit limits.
For the Dentists: there are no claims forms, no administrative headaches and no practice restrictions.

button  Can Universal Dental Plan work with other dental insurance?

button (1)  Yes, under the following guidelines:

Since Universal Dental Plan is not traditional dental insurance, there is not what would be considered “coordination of benefits”. In the case that an individual has traditional dental insurance and a Universal Dental Plan membership, the individual would need to exhaust the annual maximum from the dental insurance first, and then the Universal Dental Plan discounts can be applied to all procedures provided that the dentist is participating in the UDP network.  The dentist needs to be a participating provider with UDP in order for UDP to work after the dental insurance is exhausted.

button  Can Pediatric Dental Insurance work with Universal Dental Plan?

button (1)  Universal Dental Plan does not work with Pediatric Dental insurance. With the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Pediatric Dental Insurance (for children age 19 and under) has no annual maximums and the dental benefits are unlimited therefore Universal Dental Plan would be of no help to a plan as such.
